HBM Soletanche Bachy was about 45 days ahead of schedule in the foundation work of the new office building on the Hungária ring road.
HBM is working with modern and energy-saving solutions on the investment of the Hungarian WING Zrt. During the works the foundations of the eight-storey Liberty office building-a total of 40,000 square meters- will be laid, which will be ready with a four-storey underground garage.
FAST AND SAFE WORK WERE CELEBRATED
The deep foundation company recently held a D-wall closing ceremony – the event held in connection with the completion of the D-wall construction works corresponds to the bouquet festivals known in the industry just in the world of deep foundation. The work required for the partial closure on the Liberty investment was completed a month and a half earlier than planned.
On the event, Tamás Kaltenbacher, Managing director of HBM, said that rapid progress was possible not only due to the preparedness of the company’s employees, WING’s supportive attitude and outstandingly prepared development, but also due to the excellent work of the earthworks partner, ÁR-LA. He emphasized:
it is very important to HBM that the work was done safely and accident-free.
“We can work on a high-quality construction site, where we still have a lot of challenges ahead, and we have to do very well – the 1,5 month we’ve won so far and the ability to make good decisions about the risks help us.”
Finally, the manager thanked WING for the project preparation and the HBM project team for the implementation.
EXCELLENTLY ORGANIZED WORK SITE
Speaking on behalf of the investor, Norbert Schőmer, Deputy Chief Executive Officer for Office Developments, highlighted the orderliness of the working platform of the Liberty.
“The safety of people is very important to WING too, be they employees of our subcontractors or our main contractors”
– He added, referring to the occupational safety measures emphasized by the deep foundation company.
YOU NEED ACCURACY LIKE SURGERY
In his speech, the leader illustrated the special nature of deep foundation work with a unique example. In his view, the work done by HBM is most comparable to laparoscopic surgery in both its accuracy and the need to perform this precise execution without seeing it below the surface of the ground. The advantages of the digitization technologies used in the project were also presented by the contractor’s experts, and there was an opportunity to test the VR application on site.
THERE IS A HUGE DEMAND FOR NEW OFFICES IN BUDAPEST
Soletanche Bachy’s specialists have been working on the site since early October, after finishing the construction of the D-wall, some other deep foundation work will be completed by September 2020. The impressive office building, which has already emerged from the visual plans, will be built on 8,000 square meters, and there is already a constant interest in the leasable area of more than 40,000 square meters.
